Guest BagPuss Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 (edited) Hey Everyone, Well, finally got around to taking some pictures of the ICE. Unfortunately its been a while as I've been working weekends, So before I go on shift next week I thought, time to get those done as promised. Well I'm very happy at the results, nearly everything was purchased from ebay, Mostly shipped from Hong Kong but...at a fraction of the price. I've got to modify the front console as the DVD wont push back far enough do it got a few spacers for know. Anyway here we go! Open doors and all the lights come on, which I love! Monitors down and ready for action! Lets all watch a DVD through the 10 Speakers! There's always one who wants to play on his PS2 But it is a fun one though! Playstation, nicely hidden but easily accessible. The Clarion switching units, Superb piece of kit. One for the middle seats and one for the rear. Power on and selector for upto 4 AV outputs. Headphone transmitter. Edited October 7, 2007 by NikpV Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 (edited) More and the front. Rear speakers sound great! Well if anyone wants to know where I order the bit from, i.e. ebay seller, i'd be happy to say. The monitors were Edited October 7, 2007 by NikpV Quote

katman Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Very nice setup Bagpuss. Peter Doidge does excellent work, his showroom is only 10 minutes from my house. I have known him for 25 years but only ever had one CD Player fitted by him. I normally do my own. He has some excellent kit in his showroom but it is just too expensive for the area I live in  We were looking for a new CD Player for the wifes car after she broke the fascia on her old one. He had quite a nice Clarion one that could do iPod control but it was Quote

katman Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Yes, I've known Peter for a lot of years, well ever since he was at Drudge Road in Gorleston, up near tge Cliffs. ... like you say he has some superb pieces of kit! Drudge Road was when I first knew him as well. I remember going thre to see the Pioneer Component Hifi bits. My mate had a brand new Capri and had the Pioneer. I had just bought a 2 year old Mk2 Transit and was planning to have all the components in a line across the dash but I couldnt afford it so I ended up with a Sharp Autoreverse Radio Cassette, Graphic Equaliser/Booster driving my pair of 2*12 Disco speakers (I had to carry them so thought I might as well plug them in!) and a Sirtel Searcher FM CB Radio (one of the first legal ones). Not quite in the same league as the Pioneer kit but it sounded pretty good at the time :D Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 Yes, those were the days,State of the art technology!! :D Amazed he operated from those premises for as long as he did as it was awkward to get cars in and out and it wasn't that big, but we all have to start somewhere. just one question with the i.r transmitter are the screens not got them built in Sorry Steve only just noticed ya Q :D Nope to save cost initially I bought them without.....Hind sight eh? :D I was just going to have it all through the sound system, but then.......erm the plan all changed. :D So looking at it now, if you can afford it, go for the ones with the transmitter built in. But saying that, i'm pleased as the Channel is a twin not single. :( So as I have 2 pairs of headphones, they have a switch for A or B Channel. i.e. One can listen to the DVD or Freeview etc and the other can listen to the Playstation. Then I can buy addition headphones later on. Just means they can listen to what they want and I can still have the CD, Radio on through the speakers.......Well I'm driving after all :D :D Quote

Guest BagPuss Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Wonderful install! Gives me an idea of what to aim for if ever my ship comes home..... Well just do as I did, order a bit or two each month. You can do it, just over a bit of time. Depends if you know what you want, then it isn't soo bad. Quote

mumof4 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 You coming to Billing then Bagpuss????Bring the whole family along????.......... B) I must say that it all lloks very good..its brilliant!! :D Quote
Davetheref Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 Great looking install Bagpuss. Is that front screen above the drivers seat or in front so that you can see clearly. Only reason i ask is won't the boys in blue be upset if they stop you and see the monitor in front of you? I know when I've seen dashboard fitted screens in the states, they cant be turned on when the ignition is on. I've also ordered lots of kit via Ebay and Hong Kong and havn't been stung yet for custom duty. I've heard that they just pick on packages from time to time but I've never ordered any really large items yet. Quote
Guest BagPuss Posted November 11, 2006 Report Posted November 11, 2006 (edited) Here we go! Finally got some time to take some pic's of the Sunvisors! They're 8" 16:9 Widescreen. Again they're swichable the same as the rear and middle monitors. So PS2, Freeview or DVD etc... Again, quality for such a cheap monitor is brilliant! The clarion switcher unit, nicely postioned! Had a good trip to Basildon yesterday, so 2 Edited October 7, 2007 by NikpV Quote
